A skip (or skip bin) is a large open-topped waste container designed for loading onto a special type of lorry. The term is mostly only encountered in British, Australian, Irish and New Zealand English. An inexact North American equivalent is a dumpster or debris box. Skip bins are typically shaped like a trapezoid or two stacked trapezoids along their longitudinal cross-section. The smaller edge of the lower trapezoid is at the bottom of the skip bin, and the longer edge is at the top. It's easier to load because the smaller edges on both ends are lower. The smaller edge is at the top of an upper trapezoid. There is a slanted floor or wall at either end of the skip bin. Chains are usually attached to two lugs on each side of the bin, allowing the heavy skip bin to be lifted onto and off a skip lorry or skip truck. It is necessary to use a special skip-carrying lorry or crane.
I ordered an 8-yard skip from CKB Skip Hire. I am really happy with the service.
We used CKB Skip Hire Derby for the first time, and we will definitely use them again. All of our requests were handled quickly and efficiently by Claire. He kept me updated and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. From beginning to end, it was a simple and quick process. Delivery and customer service received a five-star rating. Thank you for all of your assistance.
Strongly advised. When making a reservation for a skip, the customer service staff was extremely helpful. With text message reminders, you'll never be late. It's not difficult to put the skip in the exact right spot. It's a good thing you have good driving skills because it's not an easy lane to reverse down!
